UCP & Noor Thalassemia Foundation Host Blood Donation Camp & Awareness Seminar

27-May-2025

University of Central Punjab (UCP) partnered with Noor Thalassemia Foundation to host an impactful seminar and blood donation camp, raising awareness about thalassemia, promoting premarital screening, and encouraging youth to donate blood to save lives.

We commend the University of Central Punjab (UCP) for their incredible act of kindness and community engagement. They organized a special Awareness Seminar and Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with the Noor Thalassemia Foundation for thalassemia children, a disease that is manageable but life-threatening. The event aimed to support children with thalassemia and promote community-based advocacy for voluntary blood donation as a norm among young people.

At the campus event, students, faculty members, medical professionals, and social activists came together with the objective of educating participants about thalassemia prevention, early diagnosis, and the importance of regular blood transfusions for affected children.

Experts discussed the importance of obligatory premarital screening for thalassemia, as well as motivating today's youth to become leaders in promoting thalassemia awareness within the community.

Meanwhile, an on-site blood donation opportunity was provided for students and faculty to donate blood to a thalassemia patient.

Each blood donation was a unit of blood that not only meant a life meaningful to the recipients but also advocated for solidarity with children and families who may be living with a lifelong chronic disease.

The Noor Thalassemia Foundation, represented by healthcare professionals and volunteers, shared the stories of thalassemia warriors whose lives displayed challenges and courage.
